When Betsy Swain stumbles across Beth Sutherland’s counterfeit T-shirt scheme at Underworld, Beth argues that stitching designer labels onto cheap clobber is just her way of making exclusive clothing more affordable for the masses. Always quick with the sarcasm, Betsy calls Beth ‘Robin Hood’ for her noble act of stealing from the rich to give to the poor. A compromised Beth is forced to include Betsy in her scam. When she tells her new accomplice to be discreet, Betsy points out the operation has hardly resembled the slick heist in 2001 movie Ocean’s Eleven up until this point. As Summer Spellman, Paul Foreman and Billy Mayhew talk about Bernie Winter in their flat, the subject of their conversation buzzes the intercom. Billy reckons she’s like Candyman, from the 1992 horror film of the same name. ‘Say her name and she’s there,’ he jokes.
