Unwillingly embroiled in his dad Damon’s drug-smuggling activities, Jacob Hay sarcastically compares his father to Colombian narcoterrorist Pablo Escobar. From bad parenting to good friendship, as Dee-Dee Bailey gives Alya Nazir a fridge magnet. ‘There’s always light if we’re brave enough to see it,’ is the phrase on the magnet. It’s inspired by Amanda Goram’s poem The Hill We Climb, which she read at President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021. The White House theme continues as Alya bats away Dee-Dee’s compliments by insisting she’s no Michelle Obama.
