With the washing machine at The Rovers out of commission, Glenda Shuttleworth is grateful for the use of Eileen Grimshaw’s. Glenda is feeling exhausted, after indulging in a late-night binge of old Love Island episodes. She doesn’t mention if she watched Season 10, which featured a contestant called Molly Marsh. Molly’s mum Janet Marsh has played several small roles in Corrie over the years, including a nurse and a receptionist.
Amy Barlow is considering applying for a job on a student radio station. She tells Aadi Alahan it might be a problem that she isn’t much of a music fan, apart from Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, so he suggests doing a talk show instead. She should speak to her dad Steve McDonald about his seven eventful marriages. That’ll give her enough material to fill the airwaves for a couple of years. Amy’s grandad Ken Barlow says he dabbled with radio when he was a student. When she teases him about whether radio existed in his youth, Ken jokes that Guglielmo Marconi had only just invented it.
