Steve McDonald is excitedly exchanging texts with a woman called Demi. They met online and have bonded over the potential delights of a fourth instalment in the Creed movie franchise. However, Tim Metcalfe thinks Demi is a man and he’s worried Steve is being catfished. Creed IV isn’t likely to reach cinema screens until 2027, so Steve will have a very long wait before he can watch it. But Tim points out he can learn the truth about Demi a whole lot sooner if he asks her out on a date.
Eileen Grimshaw tells George Shuttleworth about the will Todd Grimshaw has discovered. He found it while rooting about in George’s cavernous file organiser – the one that seems to contain more items than is physically possible, like Mary Poppins’ handbag. Meanwhile, Paul Foreman explains to his assistant Hannah about the bravery Brian Packham displayed in recovering his stolen tablet. He describes Brian’s altercation with the tech thief as the work of ‘Charles Bronson in comfortable knitwear’. Thankfully, unlike Paul Kersey – the brutal vigilante Bronson played in the Death Wish movies – Brian stopped short of blowing anyone away with a handgun.
Tim has started referring to Steve’s mysterious online acquaintance as Demi Moore. To be fair, there aren’t too many famous people called Demi to choose from. He could have chosen singer Demi Lovato. Or maybe actress Demi Harman from Home And Away. Considering Tim’s doubts about her true identity, though, it’s somewhat surprising he didn’t opt for Demis Roussos.
