Spending a night in the cells has serious repercussions for Todd Grimshaw when George Shuttleworth fires him to protect the reputation of his undertaker business. Bernie Winter leaps to Todd’s defence, saying he’s like Bobby Ball to George’s Tommy Cannon. ‘He’s the one with the personality,’ she elaborates bluntly. Bernie adds that she wants legendary DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold spinning the tunes at her funeral. Perfecto. Later, Summer Spellman announces she’s going back to university and Todd shouts ‘Hallelujah!’ while doing a baggy dance, which may well be a tribute to Oakenfold’s mix of the classic Happy Mondays track.
